I work as a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist (children’s kidney Doctor) at the Bristol Children’s Hospital having studied medicine at the University of Bristol, qualifying in 2004. I have a post-graduate qualification (MSc) in Genomic Medicine from the University of Exeter.
I look after children with a range of conditions including (but not limited to) complicated urinary tract infections, anatomical kidney abnormalities, inherited kidney disorders, inflammatory kidney diseases (vasculitis) and chronic kidney disease. I have specific expertise in
genetic kidney disease and vasculitis, running regional clinics for both at the Bristol Children’s Hospital. I work for the South West Genomic Medicine Service Alliance as the clinical lead for rare diseases and have a national role with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child
Health as their Genomics Officer. I have 2 teenage boys with my husband Andrew (a local GP) and enjoy classical music and running in my spare time.
