Joe Philip

    Joe Philip MD, FRCS (Urol.) is a Consultant Urologist at Southmead hospital, Bristol having been appointed in 2011. He trained in Urology in the Mersey region & Birmingham. Joe is a tertiary hospital specialist Surgeon with practice involving the management of complex stone patients and urology cancer diagnostics. Joe has published over 75 papers and has lectured around the world. He the President Elect of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), an International Professor with the Apollo Hospitals Educational & Research Foundation (AHERF), India and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Bristol Medical School, University of Bristol, U.K. In addition, he is the Section Editor for Endourology, Journal of Clinical Urology and serves as a Trustee/Advisor on National Committees.

    He investigates and undertakes procedures in Minimally invasive treatment for kidney stones; Kidney drainage abnormality and suspected cancer; Blood in the Urine assessment; Urinary flow/ Prostate Problems; Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs); Urinary Bladder Dysfunction (including frequency, urgency, incontinence); Peno-Scrotal Surgery such as Circumcision, epididymal cyst excision and hydrocele repair and Urological Cancer diagnostics
